AskNicely strives to put the power in your hands when it comes to extrapolating learnings and findings from your Surveying approach. The AskNicely Dashboard and Responses page are both equipped with powerful, stackable filters that allow a great amount of flexibility to parse your responses, but for those of you that really like to geek out on data, that may only be a jumping off point.
That is why we have created a number of ways for you to export your AskNicely data in Spreadsheet form, allowing you to conduct your own in-depth analysis in Google Sheets or Excel, or pipe this data into a modern powerful data analysis visualization tool like Tableau or PowerBI.
Exporting Responses from the Responses page
The Responses page is where all of the Responses from your Contacts can most easily be viewed. To download a CSV file of responses, you can either:
- Click the blue Download button and select "All Results" to download all of your responses from the very beginning; OR
- Use the Date and Data Filters at the top of the Responses page as query tools to zero in on the specific Responses you wish to export. When you have added all necessary filters, click Download and select "Current View" - this will only export the people that meet your filter criteria.
Download Sent Survey History from the Contacts page
Exporting your Responses from the Responses page will only give you the data from contacts who have actually answered your survey - it will not provide people that did not open or reply to the Survey.
The "Download Surveys Sent" report, found on Contacts > Actions > Download Surveys Sent, provides a comprehensive CSV report of all surveys that were sent, regardless of whether they were opened or not. Sort by the "opened" or "responded" column to find everyone that didn't open or respond to the survey.
Copy and paste the Dashboard > Statistics page into a spreadsheet
The Dashboard > Statistics page (found in the sub-menu on the left of the Dashboard) provides a ton of useful data around response rates, open rates, and a day-by-day breakdown of the engagement your surveys are getting.
Conveniently, if you wish to do further data analysis on this page, you can select the entire table with your mouse then copy and paste it into a spreadsheet - it will automatically be formatted correctly.
API Data Retrieval
Automatically generate your procurement of Response data to send to Third-Party software that can highlight trends, accomplishments, and all other data points with our open API.
Using the Get Responses call will retrieve all response data, similar to the The "Download Surveys Sent" report in either CSV or JSON formats. Keep in mind that you cannot filter out responses beyond their time of receipt. Your application will also need to be able to handle redirects.
You can find your specific API documents in the Settings page.
