🧭 Introduction
Google's GSuite User Management is a great way to integrate your existing lists of user access settings with AskNicely. This guide walks you through authorizing and configuring the integration to streamline user management using your existing Google Groups.

🔗 Authorizing AskNicely <> GSuite Integration
If you have Admin rights in AskNicely:

Go to Settings > Users > GSuite.

Click Authorize G Suite.

Ensure you're signed into your Google account with admin permissions.

Click Allow to authorize AskNicely's integration with GSuite.

You’ll be returned to the configuration screen.
⚙️ Configuring GSuite Sync
Choose one of the following options for syncing:

Sync all users – Syncs every user in your GSuite domain.

Select specific groups – Displays your active Groups with checkboxes so you can sync only selected groups.
⚠️ Important: Ensure groups do not have overlapping members. AskNicely cannot guarantee which group a user will be assigned to if they appear in multiple groups.
Next, choose a Default Role from the dropdown. This will apply to all users during sync. You can later adjust roles for individual users in the Users section.
When ready, click Save & Sync Users. A green success banner will confirm the sync.
✅ Recommended Setting
Toggle on “Disable email login” to require synced users to log in via Google (SSO) only—no passwords.
📊 Checking Sync Status

On the same GSuite configuration page, go to the Status tab to view integration status and recent activity.

You can also check the Users page. Synced users will be labeled with their GSuite group.
❓FAQs
💡 Is syncing automatic?
Yes. After setup, GSuite syncs automatically at 6am and 6pm (local time). You can also click “Sync Now” to sync manually.
🚫 Can I go over the user limit?
No. If your selected group(s) exceed your plan’s user limit, no users will sync. Reduce the selection or upgrade your plan.
🔐 I want to use regular email/password logins for synced users.
While not recommended, you can allow this. Users must click “Forgot Password” on the login screen to create a separate AskNicely password.
📬 Is anyone notified when we sync users?
Yes:

New users receive an onboarding email.

Admins are notified via email if a sync fails.
