The quickest way to maximize the impact of your feedback data is to involve your larger team to view, interact, and manage individual Responses. Our fully integrated Microsoft Teams integration allows Admins and Users access to AskNicely features directly within Teams.
Getting Started
There are two steps required to set up the Microsoft Teams and AskNicely integration. First, you must install the AskNicely app to your Teams instance. You may need approval from your IT team to complete this step. Secondly, you will need to configure a workflow inside AskNicely to send matching responses to a chosen channel in MS Teams.
Installing the AskNicely app to Teams
Note: Azure/Microsoft 365 is not needed to use our Teams feature.
However, if planning to integrate User access via Azure you may want to set that up first to help provision access to AskNicely within Teams.
- Inside MS Teams, navigate to Apps in the side bar and search for 'asknicely'.
- Press 'Add' and 'Add to team' on the following dialog. Select your Team and finalize the set up with 'Set up a bot'.
HOT TIP:
In order to set up the initial two-way integration, Microsoft requires that the AskNicely bot must be linked to your 'General' channel first.
Once the integration is successful, you may remove the bot from the General channel and into an appropriate channel in your org. For Shared Channels, they must be shared with the Team when the AskNicely bot is installed. This can be done when creating the channel, or the share channel options.
3. Within the General channel, the bot will ask for your AskNicely Domain. Type in your Domain as if it was a URL (i.e. 'yourdomain.asknice.ly'). If you're unsure, check the address bar in your browser when you are using AskNicely.
4. If you entered a valid domain, you should now have a 'login to yourdomain' button visible. Click this button and log in to your AskNicely account. You will need to be an admin user in AskNicely in order to add new integrations.
5. If everything goes well, you will see the screen below. You will now need to activate your first Teams workflow using the steps below. The 'Create a new workflow' button is simply a shortcut to get started.
Activating the Teams Workflows
Navigate to your Workflows Page > Actions in order to see our suite of Workflow Templates and integrated apps.
Click on "Send to Microsoft Teams" to begin configuration
Create a ruleset that determines when a Response will be sent to Teams
Configure the Message and the Fields already associated with Contacts that will display in the Teams Channel
Finally, click "Save" and Toggle On the Workflow
Then you're all set!
The Response data that will appear in Teams is curated to provide your Users with the most relevant information about the Contact and their provided feedback.
Available Actions
Our Teams Integration acts as an extension of the features available to Users when actioning on Responses directly in the AskNicely Desktop or Mobile apps for seamless transitions between platforms.
Internal Note
Add a message to the Response's thread, providing context to your teammates on the Contact and any interactions you may have had with them in relation to their survey feedback.
Customer Reply
Directly connect with the Contact to begin "closing the loop" on their feedback. The reply you provide will then appear in the email Inbox of the Contact along with a brief summary of their Response data.
Workflow
Access your pre-existing Workflows to quickly send the Contact a pre-formatted message.
Open in AskNicely
Want access to the full suite of Case Management features to address the Response? Go directly to the corresponding Response Reply window in AskNicely.
Admin Notes
- Private and shared channels are not currently supported.
- Capabilities and access to actions for individual users is based on their existence as a user in AskNicely and any specific User Role Permissions. If integrating fully with Azure, ensure the User has access rights to AskNicely within your Azure settings
