𧩠Introduction
Google and Yahoo updated their email security policies for 2024 (read more here). These changes are critical for anyone using custom domains for email purposes, and they require immediate attention to ensure uninterrupted service.
π¨ What Do You Need to Do?
If youβre not using the custom Domain features in AskNicely, there is no further action required.
If you are using a custom Domain, you must comply with these new standards. To continue using your own email domain without any disruption, youβll need to update your DNS settings by adding a few records. This process only takes a few minutes, and your IT administrator (or the person responsible for domain management) should be able to complete it easily.
Tip: Your DNS settings are usually managed through the provider where you purchased your domain (e.g., GoDaddy.com, Namecheap, etc.)
π οΈ Step-by-Step Instructions
β DKIM Records
Create two CNAME records:
-
Name:
mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com
Value:dkim1.mandrillapp.com
-
Name:
mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com
Value:dkim2.mandrillapp.com
π Replace
yourdomain.com
with your actual domain name.
β DMARC Record
Ensure you have a DMARC policy in place. If you do not have one already, create the following TXT record:
-
Name:
_dmarc.yourdomain.com
-
Value:
v=DMARC1; p=none
π Again, replace
yourdomain.com
with your actual domain name.
