When requesting to utilize AskNicely's SMS-based surveys, there are unique requirements that need to be completed in order to verify your business and begin sending surveys.
Legal Compliance Requirements
Depending on which region your business is based on, compliance requirements are different. Please refer to this page to understand the documentation you must provide our team.
For US/Canada businesses, your EIN/CBN is required for verification.
Sending Number Customization
AskNicely has access to a number of area codes from which to send your SMS surveys. We cannot guarantee availability for all preferences, but will choose the closest in physical proximity available.
Alphanumeric Sender IDs
We now support Alphanumeric Sender IDs, including in countries requiring pre-registration, such as Australia.
What are Alphanumeric Sender IDs?
Alphanumeric Sender IDs allow you to replace a phone number with a custom text-based identifier (up to 11 characters) as the sender of an SMS. These identifiers typically represent a business or brand name, enhancing trust, brand visibility, and customer engagement.
For example, instead of receiving a message from a phone number, recipients will see a sender like "MyBrand" or "Shop123" in their SMS inbox.

Need to Know

Once we activate SMS surveys on your account, any Contact with a phone number assigned to their Active Contact Record will receive an SMS survey attempt first.

Those specific Contacts will only receive an email survey if:

The phone number does not exist, or

The phone number field is blank.

Some telecommunication companies use a "call to text" feature for landlines. If so, AskNicely will consider this a successful send.
