By default, AskNicely collects identifiable information along with survey responses. If your organization wants to allow survey respondents to remain anonymous, you can request that setting to be enabled. This guide will show you how to optionally give respondents the choice to remain anonymous.

To enable anonymous responses, please contact your Customer Success Manager or email accountmanagement@asknicely.com. Once it's enabled:

đź§ How To Give Survey Respondents the Choice of Anonymity
Step 1: Add a New Group
Add a new Group above the Finish Card in your survey flow.
Step 2: Add a List Question
Inside the new group, add a List Question.
Step 3: Set the Question Key
Set the Question Key to:

Step 4: Show Option Values
Check the box for Show Option Values, and then add a second option.
Step 5: Set Option Values

Click Save, and your survey is now equipped with an anonymity choice!

Q: What happens if a respondent selects “Share my contact details”?
A: Their identifiable information (name, email, etc.) will be included with their response as usual.
Q: What if I don’t include this list question?
A: All responses will remain anonymous by default once the feature is enabled.
