🎯 Introduction
This article explains how to connect (also referred to as Authorizing) a listing or business profile in Reputation Manager.
Connecting listings is required for certain services, including:
Google
Facebook
Instagram
Twitter/X
LinkedIn
Connecting or Authorizing is the process of giving Reputation Manager permission to access and manage information associated with your listing or business profile.
You may be prompted to connect a service when:
Adding a new business location
Connecting listings for management purposes
If you are unable to connect your listing, review the common causes and solutions below.
🛠 Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
If you cannot connect your listing or business profile, the issue is typically caused by one of the following:
1️⃣ Your email does not have an account on the service
2️⃣ Your account does not have management access
3️⃣ Your profile is not the correct type
1️⃣ Your Email Does Not Have an Account
The email address you are using may not have an account on the service you are trying to connect.
For example:
If you are using info@example.com to connect a profile on Google Business, that email address may not be associated with a Google Account.
✅ Solution
Try logging in with different email addresses you may have used when creating the profile.
Confirm the email is registered with the service you are connecting.
2️⃣ Your Account Does Not Have Management Access
Your email address may be valid for the service but does not have management access to the business listing or profile.
You may be:
A user without administrative rights
Unable to edit or manage listing details
✅ Solution
You must be granted management access by someone who currently has it.
This may include:
The business owner or manager
Your IT administrator
A marketing department team member
A third-party marketing agency managing your online presence
Contact the appropriate person and request to be added as a Manager or Administrator of the profile.
3️⃣ Your Profile Is Not the Correct Type
📘 Facebook & Instagram Limitations
For Facebook and Instagram, some accounts may not appear during connection.
Reputation Manager does not load personal user pages (other than the one used to authorize the connection).
If your page does not appear:
It is likely a personal user page
It must be converted or recreated as a Business Page
⚠️ Important (As of July 2024)
Facebook has removed the ability to convert a personal user page into a business page.
If this applies:
You may need to create a new Facebook Business Page
Set it up properly
Remove the personal user page
📸 Instagram Requirements
If your Instagram account cannot be connected:
It must be a Business Instagram Account
It must be connected to a Facebook Business Page
👤 If You Cannot Be Added as a Manager
If you are unable to be added as a Manager or Administrator:
You can give the person who has management access a user account in Reputation Manager so they can log in and connect the profile themselves.
This only needs to be done once.
To do this:
Add the person to your Reputation Manager account.
Send them this link:
https://app.mypresences.com/connect/Ask them to log in and connect the profile.
Once connected, they do not need to log in again.
