Protect your team from demoralizing or profane survey comments by enabling AskNicely’s moderation filter. This tool ensures only constructive feedback reaches your team while still preserving valuable score data.
💡 Introduction
Occasionally, survey responses contain language that’s offensive, unproductive, or downright abusive. While customer honesty is critical, harmful comments can hurt morale and make it harder to stay focused on meaningful insights.
The Moderation Filter hides responses containing profanity before they are shown to your team. These responses can still be reviewed by Admins, and if appropriate, edited, deleted, or released back into the general response pool.

1. Enable the Moderation Filter
Navigate to Settings > Account > Settings
Locate the Response Moderation Filter toggle and enable it
⚠️ Moderation only applies to new responses going forward
2. How It Works

-
If a match is found:
The Conversation Status is marked as Moderation
The score remains visible and is still included in dashboard metrics
The comment is hidden from non-admin users
3. Review and Moderate Responses
Go to the Responses page
Use the Moderation tab or filter by Conversation Status = Moderation
-
For each flagged response, Admins can:
Edit: Remove or sanitize offensive language
Delete: Permanently remove the response
